Life Updates

Well, I guess it's time for another update!

Since my last post about Goal #2, I've completed another 5K, with awesome results. I did not place and I'm ok with that. I was 14th out of 50 in my age group.  I was 162 our of 447 for all the females and 454 out of 882. Not great, but for me, it was good.  I finished in 30 minutes and 55 seconds, which put me just under a 10 minute mile (9:59/Mile actually!).  The weather was so perfect for the 4th of July. Low humidity, temps were low considering it was the middle of summer. I actually wore a jacket to the race!

Me and my BFF. We laugh because we, in 30 years, have never enjoyed our friendship like this. By running together!

Last week, I received the numbers/measurements from when I first 'weighed in' back at the end of January. My BMI has dropped 2 full points and my body composition (I don't know the difference) has dropped 2.7%.  My recovery heart rate dropped 10 points and my blood pressure dropped slightly. It was normal and is just below that now.

The best part of all of this?  The fact that I've lost 4.5 inches off my waist circumference.

That's HUGE.  I had no idea.

I want to shout it from the rooftops but you know what?  I don't.  I can't be boastful about it because of the way people handle it.  Some people out there are jealous and don't want to see that stuff.  Since I don't want to ruffle any feathers, I'll just post it here. For my 4 readers.   And I;'m happy with that.

I also got a FB message from a high school friend last week that said I had motivated her to get back on the exercise wagon.  That's not what I set out to accomplish but hey, it's a nice consolation prize.  If I can help someone else, that's great.  As long as I can help myself first.

I had someone ask me the other day if I have a before and after picture.  No. I don't have any after pictures because I'm not done.

I won't say it's been easy.  I won't say it's all been fun.  BUT, it's worth it. I WILL meet goal #3.

Enough about me.  The hubby is dropping pounds too.  Guys have it so much easier.  We are both super ready for vacation.

Big Sister is getting ready to start 2nd grade.  I printed out her school supply list last night and I'm having a hard time with this.  I turn 35 in September and this is not sitting well with me.  I'm not sure why. I will be in a new age group for my next race in October (unless we do another one before then).  My BFF's daughter will be a senior this year.  I met them when she was like 6?  Man, that's hard. I can't imagine being her Mama! Love you LBM!

This summer has been jam packed for Big Sister.  She went to Winshape Camp at the beginning of June, which is a camp put on basically by Chick-Fil-A. She had a BLAST and learned so much.  That same week was VBS at my Mother in Law's church.  She was pretty exhausted by the end of the week.  We all were. HA!

Not the best pic but this was the last day of Winshape. All the kids got up on stage.

She also attended her first week long Warner Tully camp.  She went to the 2 day (over a weekend) last summer because she wasn't old enough for the whole week. When I picked her up, she asked if she could stay for 2 weeks next summer.  Um, no. Mama and Daddy can't afford that.  But, we did let her go for a week.  She had a blast and has once again requested to go for 2 weeks next summer.  Not unless we win the lotto!  And we don't buy tickets...

Her roomy, classmate, and our former neighbor!

Baby Sister has grown so tall over the past few months.  She will be turning 3 in just a few short weeks.  We are heavy into party planning, even though it's just going to be a family party.  I'm tired of all these big birthdays!  I want a real invitation (not a FB invite) and to spend time visiting with friends and not admiring the decorations, games, etc.  This will also be her last birthday that she will receive gifts at her party. Next year, she starts the same as Big Sister in donating her presents.

She will be moving up to the K3 class at her 'school' and is not too excited.  I think she will be ok since the teacher she LOVES has been out most of the summer due to surgery.  She doesn't want a new teacher she says.  She just wants Ms. Cole back!  She's been there since November is adjusting pretty good. She still has her days where she HATES to see me go but she's fine 5 minutes after I leave.

This is the picture she asked me to send to her teacher. So sweet.

She is still my girly girl.  She's the ONLY one (of the kids) that enjoyed the Miss MS parade.

And getting her toes and nails painted in order to watch the World Cup!

Remember when I mentioned those 4 blog readers?  Well, one faithful ready could use your prayers. She is very private but has been having some serious health issues and is in the hospital.  She is facing an uphill battle but she knows that she serves the Ultimate Physician.  I just know she would covet your prayers.

That's all for now!
