Just Checking In!

Hi to my 3 readers! I'm still alive.  Just busy and taking care of myself.

I miss my blogging but it's had to take a back seat to my getting healthy and taking care of my kids while Daddy works non-stop and working full-time and well, you know, LIFE.

I'm proud to report that in the last 12 weeks, I have lost 12-13 pounds (depending on the day and which scale I use) and 2 inches off my waist.  My body fat has gone down 2%, and my BMI has dropped 2 points.  My cardio health has also gotten better as well.  I've dropped down a size as well.  I haven't worn this size since before I got married. (Yeah, we celebrate 12 years in June!)

I'm super proud of these numbers but know that this is not the end.  This is a complete lifestyle change.  I call it a 'healthstyle' change.  I'm learning to eat WAY better and with smaller portions.

I'm also remembering that I love to run and exercise.  I still don't have time for it but now I make time for it.  Which is why I have not blogged in over a month.

I also ran a 5K on April 12th in Starkville through Mississippi State's beautiful campus.  I completed it in 32 minutes and 10 seconds.  WAY faster than I have ever run!  I ran a 5K last year but it was the Color Me Rad so it wasn't anything competitive.  I ran a 10K about 3 years ago (when pregnant with Baby Sister yet nobody knew yet) but I was sllllloooooowwww and not in good enough shape for that.  The last real 5K I remember actually running in was the Dilla Dash in Port Gibson probably before I had kids.  The sis in law and I ran it and it was fun.  But yeah, a long time ago.  This was another proud accomplishment.

The one piece of advice I can offer someone who is wanting to start this process is to be intentional and stick to it for 30 days.  Then, it becomes habit.

And thank you to all my supporters out there.  I am going thru this process with a few friends and that helps so much.  We encourage each other, we build each other up, we challenge each other to do more and better, and we are just there for each other to talk about the struggles and the victories.  We need that little community.

So hang tight, I will get back to blogging.  One day.  I have half a post ready about my NYC trip but need to add the pictures to it.  We had a great time!
