Christmas #4

I know nobody cares about all these posts but I'm glad I can document it all.  This was the last of the Christmas celebrations.  Thankfully.  I love Christmas but my day 4 of it all, I am pretty much done.  I was glad for bedtime and some peace and quiet.

This was our family Christmas at home, after Santa came.  Since my husband likes to wait until the last minute, we were up working on putting together presents.  We thought we didn't' have to do much and we really didn't.  Until we started putting together this.

Yeah, seems easy right?  It is.  If you have all the parts.  We were missing an entire bag of parts!  No seat belt, no hub caps, no screws.  Good thing she's only 1 and won't know the difference.  And luckily, I had bought an easel thing with magnets and chalkboard that was going to be for both of them.  I'm hoping the company will send me the missing parts.  If not, I will be sending it all back and ordering another.  Baby Sister will get some of her Santa in a few weeks.

After that, and a little sleep, Big Sister woke up at 7 am.  I had just gotten out of the bed and was making some hot chocolate.  She hollered for me, knowing not to come out of her room yet.  As soon as I opened the door and said, "Merry Christmas," she was out the door.  No waiting on her sister to wake up.  Or Daddy.

Needless to say, I have no pictures of all that.  I was thirsty and tired.  I wanted me drink and then I thought about my camera.

Once everyone was awake, the kids tore through all the stuff.  I think the enjoyed it all...

 Singing Mickey, her favorite!

Um yeah.

"Helper"

Despite it all, we had one great Christmas.  It was crazy but not rushed, which was nice.  A few late nights for the 16 month old but she was a trooper, snotty nose and all.

We have been so blessed this year.  We are healthy (mostly), happy (happy happy happy), and loved.  We have a Heavenly Father who gave it all for us.  I'm thankful for His sacrifice. And that my kids are learning that.

For unto us, a Savior is born.  Happy birthday Jesus!

Christmas #3

Christmas #3 started with our Christmas Eve candlelight service at church.  Always a fun time to see people we haven't seen in a while, in town visiting family.  Not a fun time is being in church for an hour with a 5 year old and a 16 month old.  By the lighting of the candles, the 16 month old had enough.  Oh well, one year I can watch the whole thing again.

This was taken once we got to church.
I love it. The only good one I got of them both!

This was during church.  Yes, I took a picture during church. It was such a sweet moment.  Well, at least of the younger kid and my mom.  Thankful they like to sit with us to help me since Daddy plays the bass in the praise band, when he can at least.

After church, we headed out to my parent's house.  We were starving so we all ate first.  Then we unloaded presents while my sis in law took photos of the kids all dressed up.  I'll have to get those from her.

Then, the fun and craziness began.  My oldest gets so excited and she gets loud.  Ok, louder.  She loves her cousins too!

 Getting help from Daddy

Nana and her helpers

 Hullabaloo, she loves it!

Papaw opening his easy grabber thing he's been wanting for years.

Hayes opening his spy kit from us while little brother watches on.

Her favorite! A steering wheel. She LOVES to drive.

Hayes asked for and got a Red Ryder BB gun. Yes, we all said it!
"You'll shoot your eye out!" Except for my hubby who despises the movie.

Opening her 'big' gift.

My GIRL got a bow and arrow, just what she asked for after Hayes got one last year.
The best presents of all!!!  Holly, some people do like those cheap bows!

Whitt couldn't miss out on the photo opp!

An 'attempt' at all 3.  Not happening.

After all the presents are opened and kids are in their PJ's, we always take a pic of all 4 of them.  Well, it's getting harder and harder.  Especially since it was past bedtime, again, for my sweet angel.

Yet another crazy Christmas celebration and yet again, we are blessed!  We missed my aunt and uncle, who couldn't be there due to illness but we had a great time.

Thanks to both sets of grandparents and family members that gave generously to my children.  You all made their Christmas even more special!

Christmas Cookie Decorating

So, what do you do when it's 70 degrees outside at Christmastime?  You PLAY!

Since we didn't have any plans during the day on Christmas Eve, my sis in law invited me and the kids over for a little cookie decorating.  Actually, Big Sister invited herself when we went over earlier in the week to decorate ornaments.

We let them play outside for a little while since it was so nice outside.  Windy but nice.

 Safety first!

 She LOVES to slide!

His words, "I do it myself!"

My hat on my French artist.  It was all I had it was windy.

Playing in the leaves.

Then, we decided it was pretty windy, so it was time to decorate!  Aunt Holly is great at kid's crafts.

 She's ready.

They do love each other.

 Cheese faces.

Working hard.

"Don't lick your fingers."  I love how my child minds.

Yet again, "I do it myself!"

Here's what she thought of decorating cookies.  Let's just eat them.

The finished products.
We even left 2 of them for Santa.

Thanks Holly for always being willing to let us ruin your house and have fun!
