Happy New Year!

http://www.squidoo.com
Happy New Year friends. I hope 2012 is as good to you as 2011 was for us!  We were super blessed with a new addition to our family.  I'm hoping 2012 is somewhat calmer but just as fun.

As for New Year's resolutions?  I don't usually make them because in all honesty? It's something I should be doing all year and not just for the first month or two. I've already started a new lifestyle eating plan and will continue that. Luckily, the hubby is finally joining in for the NY. Will make things much easier with him doing it as well.  Saying no to food has never been my strong point but it's getting easier, the more you do it!

We've also decided to stop charging so much and start paying stuff.  We impulse buy and we buy crap we really don't need.  We have a big trip planned for our 10 year (wow) wedding anniversary this year so saving is a must if we actually want to get on that plane!

So here's to 2012.  May it be a year full of love and laughter!

Christmas Program

The oldest had her Christmas program at school on the 15th.  They have been practicing since September.  They sang about 5 songs and they did so well. It was too cute.

Before the program, with sister
Sticking her 'tail' out during the Reindeer Pokey
One little, Two little, Three little Angels
There was a chubby snowman...

This one is blurry but I love it!

She has such a personality for entertaining!  She loves being on stage but will act all shy and scared at first, but it's ALL an act.  She's a natural.

And no, she does NOT get that from her Daddy!

It was kind of sad that it was her last preschool Christmas program.  I know there will be many many more programs in our public school future though!

Merry CHRISTmas!

But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."
Luke 2:10-11

Merry Christmas to all!

Christmas Eve

Happy Christmas Eve Y'all!

One year ago today, I found out I was pregnant.  I was soooo excited and super nervous/scared/anxious.

I remember that moment so vividly.  I am so thankful everything turned out well and we have our sweet baby girl who is now 4 months old.  She's one of the best things to ever happen to us!

I hope your Christmas season is filled with love and happiness and that we all remember the true reason for the season!

Las Vegas 2

While in Las Vegas, we got to see a ton of places.  We didn't have enough time to see it all but we tried to see as much as we could.

Arriving at the Vegas airport
We got there on a Wednesday and as soon as we checked into the hotel, we headed out.  We headed over to Venetian, where we had late lunch reservations at Otto, one of Mario Batali's restaurants. It was AMAZING!

My lunch
Some of our appetizers
We also walked around the 'Courtyard' there.  It's just like being in Venice, so I'm told.  Complete with gondola rides!

Yes, that's INSIDE
After we got done eating, I met up with my cousin, Russ, so he could show some of us around.  We went to see the gardens and fountains at the Bellagio.  Amazing again.
Waiting on the fountains. They didn't work here so we went back at night, much better!

The gardens they change out pretty regularly.

All made with REAL flowers

Yes, he talked just like in the Wizard of Oz

Largest chocolate fountain in the world

After we met back up with the rest of the group, we went to Freemont Street, which is where the Strip used to be before it got HUGE.  Since it was almost Halloween, we got to see quite a few characters.  The ceiling covering the street is a bunch of LED lights and is pretty cool. They play stuff on it about every half hour.  We also zip-lined down part of it.  That was fun but it was over quick and the pictures were expensive so I have no proof of this, except for the $20 it cost me to do it.

This is what it looks like when the screens aren't playing

We decided to head back out to the Strip to get some dessert since we'd had a big lunch and didn't want another fill meal.  We ended up across from the Bellagio at the Sugar Factory.  I had a chocolate milkshake that was DEVINE.

We were all pretty worn out at this point since we had to be at the airport early and jet lag was sinking in.  We went back to the hotel and called it a night.  We had to be up pretty early the next day too.

The next day we went to visit a member of ours who has a large OD practice in Vegas, but out in the suburb.  It was nice to get to see a not so Vegas type place that had Target, Starbucks, etc.

After we left his office, we had enough time before our Zappos tour that we were able to visit the Hoover Dam.  All I kept thinking about was when the Griswold's visit the Hoover Dam in Vegas Vacation!

One foot in Nevada, one in Arizona!
When we finished out whirlwind tour at Hoover Dam, we headed to eat and then the Zappos for the afternoon!

LOVE this!
This is not just for Halloween, it's usually decorated like this.
Marie was our awesome tour guide!
When we got done with that, we headed back to the hotel to change clothes and head out to see a show. Some of the group went to see the Beatles Love at the Mirage.  My group went to the MGM to see KA.  AMAZING. The most visually stunning show I have EVER seen.  Even the theater was awesome.

After the show was over we were able to eat dinner (at Hard Rock, I know, I know but we were hungry and it was like game 6 of the World Series and I was with a Rangers fan).
We got to see some more sights but then we headed back to the hotel because we had to be at the airport early Friday morning.  I was with a bunch of picture-taking women so I don't have that many. I only took some on my phone and it drained the battery so I didn't take many.

Here are a few more sights we saw:
Paris

New York New York

We had a great time and I am so blessed to have been given the opportunity to go!  And, it's not all about the gambling. There are sooo many other things to do there, like EAT and EAT and EAT and go to the shows and see the sites.
